Adult Ministries

We at Ascenion believe that you never graduate from Sunday School. Because of this, we place a high importance upon life-long Christian education and our adult Bible study opportunities. We offer weekly opportunities as well as special topic driven classes to further our member’s spiritual enlightenment.

Sunday Morning Bible Study: This class is led by either the pastor or a lay leader and centers around an in-depth study of the first book of our faith, the Bible. Each class time consists of a study opportunity followed with open group discussion around the topic of the week and God’s presence in daily life. There is always time to reflect and ask questions. The class is held on Sunday mornings from 9:15 – 10:15 a.m.

Women’s Bible Study: This Bible study opportunity is open to all women and at its core, is a deep spiritual reflection of God’s purpose for women. The class is informal, facilitated by a lay leader to encourage discussion and select curriculum to ensure continued spiritual growth. The class is held on Monday evenings from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Various Class Opportunities: Ascension offers a variety of special topic programs to enhance our congregational life. These classes are designed to augment our weekly programs and allow our members to grow both spiritually and in fellowship with each other. Past topics have included the following:

Christian Parenting for children 5 to 12 years of age
Couples Valentine dinner and relationship building
Shepherding a Child’s Heart
Evolution versus Creation
The Seven Deadly Sins
Understanding Grief workshops
Time and Stress Management workshops
Lutheran Studies class
End of life decisions and Hospice care
