High School / “The Connection”

As the faith journey of our youth continues beyond Affirmation of Baptism (ABI), we concentrate on applying God’s Word to events in our lives. High school students face a variety of situations every day and our group, called “The Connection”, provides a place to talk, study and have fun with friends in our community of faith. It is a place to “connect” our lives with God’s Word. This group still focuses on community service by participating in the service events with our ABI students. Our high school youth also expand their faith by attending larger gatherings of youth. This includes the ELCA Gathering in Lansing, Bass Lake Festival at Michi-Lu-Ca in Fairview, summer camp and the ELCA National Gathering which takes place every three years. All of these events include multiple-day stays at hotels or camps with worship, music, skill shops and fellowship with hundreds or thousands of other youth in our community of faith.
