Wellness Warriors

We will continue to meet every Tuesday at 6:15 p.m. We may try to walk the neighborhood, weather permitting and if safe.  We can split the group if people can’t or don’t wish to walk.  We are flexible and the goal is to move, and support each other!  Come check us out!

We welcome you to Ascension Lutheran Church.  We are a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). We are a community of faith who rely on the power and the teachings of Jesus as we navigate this world and life together.  We don’t have all the answers, and we aren’t perfect-and we believe in the one who is!  If you are in a close relationship with Jesus, or just beginning to get to know him–Ascension is a place for you to share your journey.   Come worship with us.  Join us in an event.  Come and see.
Worship With Ascension
All are welcome to worship with us at Ascension.  We are part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.  Our worship tradition means that you are an integral part of our worship–this is not something you watch but that you participate in!

Study of Scripture is an important part of our relationship with Jesus and God’s people

The youth, 4 years old through 5th grade, will begin worship with their families, and after the Children’s Message, be dismissed with their teachers to experience the Word, or message of worship in a more age appropriate way. We will then return to worship as an entire congregation during the peace, so that our youth will still receive Communion/Prayers.

Sunday Morning Bible Study
At 9:15 A.M.

Facing Divisive Issues in the Beloved Community

Beginning on September 11, 2022 our Sunday morning adult class will begin a discussion on Facing Divisive Issues. The group will meet for 7 weeks on Sunday’s at 9:15 a.m. from September 11th through October 16th.

This study is based on an article by Michael Cooper-White from the Living Lutheran magazine in March 2022.  We will explore why some issues are off   limits or sensitive in the community, how conflict can be a force for positive change, safe discussions, and the polarization of our words.  The article can be emailed to you, or you may pick one up at the church.  Hope to see many come and join in this needed conversation.

At 11:00 A.M.
This study will continue to take
place on Zoom.
Contact Pastor Julie for the Zoom link.

September thru May on Monday Evenings

The Mary to Martha Monday Women’s Bible Study will begin on Monday,  September 12, 2022 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Ascension.  The study is, “No More Holding Back”, written by Kat Armstrong.  Kat urges women to wholeheartedly love the Lord beyond our heart and soul, as well as with our mind and strength.  If you have ever felt challenged or insecure following your dreams, or in your career, or in your personal pursuit of God, this is your study.  Cost for the 6-week study is $8.00 for the participant book.

While new to our group, Kat Armstrong is a popular speaker, author, Bible teacher, and podcast host. She holds a Master of Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary.  Kat and her husband Aaron, and their son live in Texas.

Mary to Martha is open to women of all ages, and stages of faith, members & non-members, as we seek a closer relationship with our Lord.  We know that you’ll be blessed by God’s Word and fellowship with other women, and we’ll be blessed by your presence.  You may sign up on the Kiosk or text/call Joyce Richardson so we may order the appropriate number of participant books.

If you have any questions, please contact Joyce by calling or texting at 989-274-6787.   All women are welcome!

We believe that all people are at the same time a saint and a sinner.  No matter how hard we try, we will fail to do what we are to do; and we will do things we know we should not.  As a community of faith, we believe we are strengthened and encouraged by each other to live out the gospel in every aspect of our lives
